WHAT IS THE BCI&VS ALUMNI FOUNDATION?
It is a non-profit charitable Foundation established in 2003 to receive and maintain funds for charitable purposes of an educational nature with respect to Brantford Collegiate Institute & Vocational School.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BCI&VS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION?
As of January 31, 2012, the BCI&VS Alumni Association was merged with the BCI&VS Alumni Foundation. The Foundation publishes an annual Newsletter to keep alumni informed of BCI&VS news and special events.
WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS OR PROGRAMS DOES THE FOUNDATION SUPPORT?
- Academic Scholarships through the Student Awards Program
- Projects that help preserve the historic heritage of the school
- Celebration of the historical contribution of BCI&VS by recognizing the outstanding International, National, Provincial and Local achievements of its students and staff with our “Distinguished Alumni Program”
- Academic, athletic & student activities.
- Individual Student Requests for Special Funding (administered by the Principal via the Principal’s Discretionary Fund)
PRINCIPAL VIA THE PRINCIPAL'S DISCRETIONARY FUND
Each year the BCI&VS Alumni Foundation provides the Principal of BCI with funds to use at his/her discretion. Students who wish to apply for funds from the Principal’s Discretionary Fund should apply directly to the Principal. The application should outline the reasons why assistance is needed and the benefits received in the event the funding is provided.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE OR FUNDING FOR A PROJECT?
The Principal, the Grand Erie District School Board (for something of benefit to the students and/or staff). Individual students can also apply through the Principal.
HOW IS THE FOUNDATION FUNDED?
From the support and generosity of former students and staff, interested and supportive individuals, groups, businesses and industries and from interest earned from its interest-generating capital.
TYPES OF DONATIONS ACCEPTED
The Foundation welcomes financial support in the form of donations, memorial donations, bequests, in-kind donations, property, RRSP annuities, RRIFs and life insurance.
Donations can be directed to the Foundation’s endowment fund or to a specific program or project. You may also set up your own Scholarship or Bursary.

ARE THE DONATIONS TAX EXEMPT?
Yes, all forms of donations and/or bequests are tax deductible.
